Three Sisters

We were three sisters and three brothers in my immediate family. Raised in the U.S. by Mexican immigrant parents, the Mexican culture was as natural as sunlight to us kids. Still, as we grew up, that culture seemed more and more removed and distant. We lost a lot of our parents' ways and language yet our DNA carries forward the ancestral memories from many generations. I like to believe that even if our mind doesn't remember, our soul does not forget.
