Frida's Dream
It is surely a cliché to say Frida Kahlo and her art have been a source of inspiration for my own work but it is the simple truth. I was in awe when I first discovered Frida Kahlo; an indomitable Mexican woman who said, did, and painted exactly what she wanted. Nonetheless, I was keenly aware of the vulnerable, wounded, hidden side of Frida's soul, her yearning to be a mother, to be loved, to be beautiful. That is what I am portraying in this image.
