Corazon De Artista

In this painting I pay homage to the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo whose work and life have long inspired me. I depict Frida's heart connected to the "heart of Mexico" and instead of blood it spurts and drips paint. A paint brush pierces the heart representing her passion and suffering. From the puddling paint a colorful serpent emerges - representing creativity and life force - and makes its way towards heaven.
